  1. National Broadcasting Day is annually celebrated on 23 July to commemorate the first radio broadcast in India known as ‘All India Radio (AIR)’ and to honor the profound influence of radio in our lives.  
  2. A seven-year-old girl of Indian origin, Moksha Roy, has received the British Prime Minister’s Points of Light award for her exceptional dedication to environmental sustainability.
  3. Rakesh Pal has been appointed as the 25th Director General of Indian Coast Guard.
  4. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has announced the addition of a new award category, ‘Best Web Series Award’ to the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Goa that will be presented to a show for its “artistic merit, storytelling excellence, technical prowess and overall impact”.
  5. Manoj Yadava, a senior IPS officer from the Haryana cadre, has been designated as the new Director General of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) by succeeding Sanjay Chander who retires on 31 July 2023, according to an order from the Personnel Ministry.
  6. Reliance Brands Ltd, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries’ retail arm, Reliance Retail Ventures, is nearing the acquisition of actor Alia Bhatt’s kidswear brand, Ed-a-Mamma.
  7. The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati on 19 July 2023, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) to build capacity/skills in international affairs and foreign policy.
  8. Argentina’s Defence Minister Jorge Taiana on 18 July 2023, held a bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh and announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between both countries and the signing of a Specific Agreement on Academic Cooperation for peacekeeping.
  9. Chandigarh University’s student Aruna Tanwar bagged three gold medals at Australia Open Para Taekwondo Championship, President Cup Para Taekwondo Championship and Oceania Para Taekwondo Championship held in Australia.
  10. Prof. Thalappil Pradeep from the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has been honored with the prestigious ‘Eni Award’, a highly regarded global recognition for scientific research in the fields of energy and environment.
  11. INS Sahyadri and INS Kolkata, the two flagship ships of the Indian Navy, on 17 July 2023, reached Jakarta to take part in a bilateral maritime exercise Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) alongside the Indonesian Naval Forces.
  12. To promote electric vehicles in the state, the Uttar Pradesh Government launched a subsidy portal which will allow customers who bought e-vehicles after 14 October 2022, to claim financial support.
  13. The Ayodhya Development Authority will set up 25 Ram Stambh on the 13 km stretch from Sahadatganj to Naya Ghat and 4-km-long Dharm Path leading to the Ram temple in Ayodhya, ahead of the completion of the temple.

  16. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu omn 20 July 2023, launched of a collateral-free loan scheme, namely Sashakt Mahila Rin Yojna to economically empower women.
